REGIONAL RANKINGS
NSIC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Northern State University men’s track and field team appeared at #7 in the latest Central Region rankings according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) which were released on Tuesday.

The Wolves had a great showing at the 2010 NSIC Indoor Championships on Feb. 26-27, with the men finishing in fourth and the women finishing ninth. In all, six Northern State athletes earned eight All-NSIC honors at the meet. All-Conference honors were awarded to individuals that finished in the top-three in each individual event, and the top two teams in relay events.

Northern State will be sending Amanda Madden (Herreid, S.D.) and Calvin McGruder (Riverview, Fla.) to the national meet this year, with Madden currently eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 18.20m (59-8 ½ ft.) and McGruder currently in a tie for ninth-best in the long jump with a qualifying leap of 7.32m (24-1/4 ft.).
Action at this year’s indoor championships begins on Friday, March 12 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The women’s weight throw is slated for a 2:30 p.m. start time, while the men’s long jump will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliated school participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
