Jordan King
Men's Basketball
Jordan King (G, 6-0, 180, Jr., Arlington, S.D./Arlington HS) led an NSU comeback effort against the University of Mary with a career-high 16 points on Saturday despite playing just 17 minutes of the game.  King drained four of eight 3-point attempts, including several late treys to keep the Wolves in contention.  He was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while dishing out five assists and coming up with one of the team’s three steals.

Women's Basketball
Emily  Becken notched her first double-double of the season with a 17-point, 11-assist effort in the Wolves' 76-65 win over the University of Mary.  Becken was one of four Wolves in double figures in scoring and one of three players to notch a double-double, marking the first time that has happened this season.  NSU has now won four straight games.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University head football coach Tom Dosch has announced the signing of 20 student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2010 fall football season.  The class includes 11 athletes from South Dakota, five from Minnesota, two from North Dakota, one from Arizona, and one from Oklahoma. 

“I’d like to compliment our staff on being able to recruit and sign 20 student-athletes in our initial class.  Even though we got started late, I believe this will be a outstanding class to build a strong foundation with for years to come.  We’ve been able to get some tremendous players from the area, with 11 athletes from South Dakota, five from Minnesota, and two from North Dakota, and we’ve added five players from right here in Aberdeen.  All of these athletes are great students with over half of them receiving academic scholarships from Northern State.  These players have shown tremendous athleticism throughout their prep careers with all of these signees having been multi-sport athletes in high school.  These players have come from successful, winning programs, and we hope to add to their winning pedigree here at Northern,” said Dosch of his first recruiting class as the head of the Northern State football program.

Jacobson earned four letters in football, four letters in basketball, and also played legion baseball while a prep at St. Thomas More HS in Rapid City, S.D. …named First-Team All-State as a senior and honorable mention All-State as a junior…earned All-Conference accolades both his junior and senior seasons while also being voted Team MVP during the same years…team captain during senior campaign…named 11A Player of the Year as senior…named Argus Leader Elite 45 member as a senior….Rapid City Journal Best of the West team member junior and senior seasons…All-American nominee as a senior…threw for 1,792 yards and 18 TDs compared to just three INT as a junior…also rushed for 486 yards and five TDs…threw for 1,813 yards and 32 TDs as a senior…also rushed for 767 yards and 13 TDs…starting point guard on the basketball team…played legion baseball for Post 320 in Rapid City, playing pitcher, third base, and shortstop…played on the state championship little league baseball team that went to the Little League World Series Regional Tournament in 2004…also active in FCA…

Sinclair earned four football letters, six wrestling letters, and two track letters while a prep at Gregory HS in Gregory, S.D….team captain on gridiron as a senior…honorable mention All-State as a senior…All-Star Games alternate as a senior…voted Freshman of the Year in 2006…placewinner at the State B wrestling tournament, finishing 8th…brother Andy Sinclair wrestled for Northern State from 2003-2008…also participated in Big Pal/Little Pal, band, and was an usher for his local church…

Zavala was a four-year letterwinner for the Chandler HS and Basina HS in Chandler, Ariz…was named the Defensive Team MVP in 2007-2008….earned “Dirty Bear” Award for the Wolves for causing the most turnovers during the 2008-2009 seasons…earned honorable mention All-State honrs in 2008…2009 All-State Second-Team linebacker…
