ARVADA, Colo. – The Northern State University women’s swimming team continued their action at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships Friday, and slipped a spot from sixth after the first day to seventh. They have accrued a total 174 through the first two days and trail the sixth place University of Texas-Permian Basin by just three points.
The 200-yard medley relay team finished in ninth place with a time of 2:07.23 to earn 18 points.
Christine Retzlaff finished in fifth to earn 14 points for the Wolves with a time of 4:49.41 in the 400-yard IM. Brooke Larson took 13th in the same event to earn four points with a time of 5:11.29 and Sarah Iwerks finished right behind her in 14th with a time of 5:13.83 to earn three points.
Molly Pengilly took seventh in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:02.31 to grab 12 points for the Wolves.
Freshman Allie Samuels took 16th in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:16.36, earning one point for the Wolves.
The 800-yard free relay team of Iwerks, Samuels, Alana King and Teal Jacobson finished in fifth with a time of 8:19.77 to earn 28 points.
Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliated school participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
