FINAL RESULTS
MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Northern State University women’s swimming team closed out its competition at the Dragon/Cobber Invite, hosted jointly by the Dragons of MSU Moorhead and the Cobbers of Concordia-Moorhead.
The Wolves had five second-place finishes on the day.
The 800-free relay team of Christine Retzlaff, Brooke Larson, Sarah Iwerks, and Molly Pengilly finished second in their race with a time of 8:23.67.
Pengilly and Larson then finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard free. Pengilly finished with a time of 2:09.11 and Larson finished with a time of 2:06.68.
Retzlaff grabbed a second-place finish in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:02.21. Sarah Iwerks finished sixth in the event with a time of 1:10.27.
Pengilly grabbed another high finish in the 50-yard free with a time of 26.06, placing her third.
Freshman Alana King finished sixth in the 100-yard free with a time of 1:02.35.
Fellow freshman Allie Samuels finished sixth in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:16.96.
Iwerks nabbed a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:53.74.
Retzlaff grabbed another silver in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:18.35.
The 400-yard free relay team of Retzlaff, Larson, Iwerks, and Pengilly finished second with a time of 3:49.28.
The Wolves are next in action at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships from Feb. 11-13 in Arvada, Colo.
Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliated school participating in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
