ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University men’s golf team fought off a strong showing by the University of Minnesota-Morris to take the team title at the Northern State Invite, held Tuesday during a cold morning at Moccasin Creek Country Club, in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Wolves ended the day with 332 team strokes, with second-place UM-Morris swinging through 342.
Northern was led by a runner-up finish individually by Brandon Sipe, who finished the day with an 80. The medalist was UM-Morris golfer David Katz who rounded out his round with a 79.
Other scores for the Wolves were: Jordan Weisback-84, Austin Blair-81, Christopher Bachman-87, Jason Stone-94, Blair Fredrickson-89, Ryan Wolff-88, Tanner Waage-85.
Team scores in place order: Northern State 332, Minnesota-Morris 342, Jamestown 348, and Presentation 381.
The men’s golf team will be back in action on September 5, when they head to Moorhead, Minn. for the Concordia University Invite.
