Jon Evenson
Men's Track & Field
Jon Evenson (So., Lisbon, N.D./Lisbon HS) earned an NSIC Conference title Friday in the javelin at the NSIC Championships in Wayne, Neb.  His toss of 182-2 was nearly 11 feet beyond the second-place finisher's throw and his ten points earned in the event added to the Wolves' 96 points that placed them third in the conference.

Women's Track & Field
Marisa Aldinger (Jr., Aberdeen, S.D./Roncalli HS) placed fourth in the long jump Friday at the NSIC Championships in Wayne, Neb. with a leap of 17-11.  Her fourth place finish netted the women's team five points to add to their total of 40 points.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Brent Pollari has been promoted to the position of Associate Head Coach with the women’s basketball program.  Pollari had spent the previous two years as an assistant coach and enters his fifth season overall with the Wolves after serving as a graduate assistant with the program from 2004-2006.  He also serves as the women’s golf coach for the Wolves.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University volleyball coach Lisa Schriver has announced that Ligia Zobolli has been hired as an assistant coach for the Wolves. Zobolli fills the slot vacated by former assistant Amy Veenhoff, who accepted a head coaching position at Dakota State University earlier this spring.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University head wrestling coach Pat Timm announced Thursday that the Wolves' coaching staff would no longer be hosting a wrestling camp for high schoolers.

LOS ANGELES - Northern State University men's basketball coach Don Meyer will be awarded the prestigious Jimmy V Perseverance Award next month during ESPN's annual ESPY Awards. The awards will be presented on Wednesday, July 15 at the Nokia Theatre, while the taped show will air on ESPN on Sunday, July 19. Actor Samuel L. Jackson will serve as the 2009 awards show host.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Former rivals Herreid High School and Selby Area High School took the field as teammates for the first time during the recently completed Northern State University 9-man team camp and ran away with the camp championship.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University men’s basketball coach Don Meyer has announced that Dan Magrino has been hired as an assistant basketball coach.  Magrino, a 2008 graduate of NSU, returns to the Wolves after spending one year as a graduate assistant at Georgia College & State University.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University assistant men’s basketball coach Randy Baruth has accepted a position as director of basketball operations at Colorado State University.  Baruth, who has spent the last five years as an assistant for Don Meyer, will begin his duties with the Rams in July.
